Mary,

Are you looking to buy human interferon and dose it down for cats yourself, or looking for it already dosed down for cats?  There was a pharmacy in Florida that use to sell it ready for cats, but I don’t remember the name of it.  The felineleukemia website has Island Pharmacy listed, but I think they closed or stopped doing it a few years ago.  Just found one online, it is in NJ, see wedgewoodpetrx.com I assume they make it dosed down to 30 IU for cats.

Dosing it down yourself is pretty tedious unless you are going to throw away a lot of it.  A single injectable 1 ml vial containing 3 million units will make 1000, hundred day doses for cats.  You need room in your freezer for 1000 syringes, if you want to keep all of it.  The syringes contain 1 ml of interferon mixed with saline for a 3000 unit does.  Thaw one and mix with 100 ml of saline and you have it ready for oral dosing at 30 units per ml.
