1996--11/30/01 Nicknamed "Hoover" because he would eat everything in sight. He was rescued from an abusive home but remained a loving cat. We will miss him very much. Love, Mom and Dad

Laverne
8/3/2001---12/6/2001 At the tender age of 4 weeks old, Laverne started out as just one of my many rescued foster kitties. A tiny little bundle of black and white fluff with a pair of piercing gold eyes. She was ultimately destined to go on to become someone else's lifelong companion and friend as most foster kitties do. In time however, we learned of the fateful illnesses and her destiny changed dramatically. First, Laverne was dianosed with FeLV along with the rest of her siblings. "Put them down?" the vet asked. No, I quickly respinded and took the bunch home. Soon the days began to pass and Laverne, the only girl in the group, quickly became my kitty, my friend and my companion. My beautiful talkative little girl. My boys and I showered her with attention and unbounded love. Six weeks later, another blow, Laverne was diagnosed with effusive FIP. The news rang heavy in our hearts. FeLV is manageable I thought, but effusive FIP!! What could I do?? I felt so helpless and angry. But then I realized that YES, there was something we could do! We could fill her last days with comfort, peace and love. I remember one night in particular when I went to kiss my 10-year old son Ryan goodnight. Ryan was cuddling with Laverne in bed and after we said our prayers, he gave Laverne a big kiss and said as he often did, "Laverne, you are so pretty.". After, her quickly added, "And don't worry about your belly getting bigger, because that just means that there will be more of you to love!" Laverne passed away two days later on December 6, 2201 at the tender age of 4 months. She is survied by her three brothers, (Carmine, Lenny and Squiggy) and her adoped brother (Zinnie). All four are also FeLV positive. Laverne will be missed by all who loved her. Sleep softly, my little angel Mom Denise, boys and furbrothers. |
MITTENS
(unsure/1999--to forever home 9/5/2001 --to bridge 1/2/2002) You had such a short time in your new home with your Mom and Brother and Sister cats. You are so loved. You had a forever home where you were totally and completely spoiled and adored. I gave you what every shelter kitty wants--and you waited patiently for over a year for me to come for you. Thank you for being in my life. Until I see you at the bridge, my Mitts. I Love you. Mama Rachel |
SHELBY
You were my little angel sent from Heaven, I took you in when you didn't look so well and turned you into a stong kitten. I am so sorry that this had to happen to you, although you were born with it, I did what I could to keep you healthy, but it all took over in the end. Don't ever forget that I love you and will never forget you. You were and still are the most precious little ball of fur anyone could have. Take good care of yourself and one day we will be together again. I love you so much. Love, Mom |

7/23/2000-1/14/2003 Gizmo-I hope I did the right thing. I hope that you don't hate me. I am going through a really hard time right now, not having your big ball of fur around. I miss your "growls" instead of meowing!!! Your Brothers and Father will miss you terribly. I hope you are looking down at me right now and looking out for me because now I am going tomorrow to check if your two Brothers and Father have got this nasty disease as well. I will love you forever and always. I saw you come into this world and I got to hold you as you left this world. I hope you never forget me. I will never EVER be able to forget you, Giz. 5/25/98-1/5/2003 You were so very loved--the only cat we have ever "bought". We chose you before you could choose us. I'll always miss your voice, how you loved to meow out loud, your soft and thick fur and the little look you always had as you sat in the chair at the dinner table as if you belonged there. I miss you sleeping next to me and how you thought the covers were on the bed only for you. You were Luke's best birthday gift and I'm glad the end came so quickly for you.
