I do think we need to be sure, but I don't know quite how to do that. My issues with transporting are more the practical aspects. IF a home that will take 5 cats and a dog can be found, then you have to get them there. That's costly, and somewhat complicated. If you have a private individual who is known to the people involved, great. But if you want to use a "service", I can give you an idea of cost for 1 puppy from south-central FL to SC. I adopted a puppy from a shelter. He was fostered for me by a good friend, and was supposed to join a rescue transport bound for NC. Cost would have been about $100 for that, which was fine. But I became uncomfortable with the logistics. So I looked into paid transport. My 25 pound 5 month old puppy would run me $250 to $800, depending on the "amenities" I wanted, how many were traveling and how many stops. So kind of cost prohibitive, as you'd have to pay for them in foster (I guess), vaccines/health certificate for transport and transport both ways.<br><br>And yes, I have doubts and questions, too. Years in rescue have shown me that nothing is ever quite the way it seems. But I'm getting old, and I now figure I'd rather be wrong and scammed than not help when I could possibly make a difference.
