It would be a win/win, and couldn't be that tough to set up.<br><br>But as you know, it doesn't take a fortune to make a difference. And opening a rescue is more than most people can actually handle, money or not. I know several people who have started "rescues" and not one of them had won the lottery. They started with a "Foster based rescue", and worked from that. As their knowledge and experience grew, so could their efforts and scope.<br><br>So, if someone really wants to save them all, they can start with one. Or two. Or foster a litter of puppies or kittens. It's addicting. But it's also very hard. I've "retired" from cat rescue, but still have "my" misfit crowd, and somehow more appear. My friend who started 40 years ago with pregnant dogs and puppies now takes unwanted and dumped senior dogs. <div>What I would really love to see happen is for every single veterinary school to open a *free* neuter/spay clinic, regardless of income! The schools are already set up to accept donations, bequeaths, etc, so not only would it give the student vets practice it would be addressing the problem of overpopulation at the roots.</div>
