Police have been finding mutilated corpses of the animals (29 in one group). And that's what I thought too - what courage, to take their anger or whatever out on defenseless animals! If these people came up against a real tough guy, they would probably pee on themselves. My guess is that they are purchasing guinea pigs because I think they are available in pet stores. You'd think the pet stores would be a bit suspicious when they are suddenly selling a lot of them. I'm just praying that this little kitty will learn that her new owners are trustworthy and that she will not have emotional problems too. I know of her family and they are good people, so I think the kitty will have a good home, if he/she isn't hurt internally. I appreciate the offer of a donation, but I will help and my granddaughter will too ? so I think this one is covered. We all have a lot of our own pet expenses, or donate to something closer. This one I know is real because the situation is local?which really makes me ashamed of whoever did this in my area!! I did send a couple pictures to Amani. They are not horribly graphic but they do show the little one?s injuries to her nose and right eye. I truly believe this one?s injuries are survivable, but I did say a little prayer for her/him. I will find out more about her in the coming days I?m sure. Just thanks for caring!!! These often use VERY graphic pictures to encourage donations/signatures. If you have a really strong stomach and tolerance for evil, you'll be okay, but I've seen too much in real life. I have unfollowed the ones who send them to me on FB, including one of my favorite people in the world. Message-ID: <003901d30b44$e7a861d0$b6f92570$@centurytel.net> My granddaughter Toni made a visit to the little gray kitty who has now been named "Lucky" (rather appropriately) because of his survival, and possibly also because he is now free of the horrible person who did this to him. Toni got to hold him today, ever so gently, and she said she can see the pupils in both of his eyes now, and also that his nose seems to be healing amazingly well. It had been sort of split, so I was worried that it would hinder his eating. I think he had some mouth injuries also. She said the gal who picked him up, Rachel, is very in tune with his needs. Right now of course he is frightened, and so she has his bed in a box that has 3 high sides, so he feels like he is "hiding". She is giving him lots of love and being very gentle. She has him in an enclosed porch so he is away from her other pets. She says "Update on Lucky: He's really starting to pick up on eating, still timid but it'll take time. Thank you to Toni Rae Jahr and her grandma for Lucky's bed, food, and toys." We have had other people offer to help with his expenses, and to buy him food, and other things. Somehow it just feels good to help this little guy, and to know that he will have a loving home now. Thanks everyone!! Ardy -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Urgent request from Davidson County Humane Society in North Carolina. Can anyone adopt a kitten who has tested positive for FeLV and has some mild neurological problems (cerebellar hypoplasia)? There's a photo and video of her on their Facebook page; she's a little brown tabby. The shelter is desperate since she's currently being boarded at a vet and they are being charged daily for her boarding fees. I'm an hour and a half away and can help with transport. No info yet on what kind of test she was given. Davidson Humane Society (336) 248-2706 Lexington, North Carolina If the timing was different for me and my FeLV cat, I would consider her but I just can't right now. :( -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
