What about using an eye cup with boric acid eyewash. I think that is the stuff that is used for humans.

Amani....
My little guy does not yet have a return of the Uveitis... problem at the moment is his corneal abrasion...
He is already on buprenorphine( it comes preloaded in small syringes to apply to his gums)... but my fear is that the Uveitis will return.. I don't want to remove both his eyes ( he had Uveitis bi-laterally) his one remaining good eye is not very good as it is.... The Vet was quite emphatic that she didn't think the guy would make it through a major operation.... I am getting SO DAMN SICK of there being no best practices among vets..... 5 vets five damn different opinions and can NOT afford to keep shopping around.... Honestly....I expected ( and was led to believe by the shelter folks and my reading ..that the more typical course for FeLV is perhaps a "few" more trips to the vet than the usual cat but generally a life of 2-3 years and then a rather quick downhill demise... I specifically took cats with limited lifespans due to health problems of my own that promised that I would be gone in about 5 years....
BTW.. I've used contact lens solution for several months having taken that suggestion from you in a previous post when he first developed his Uveitis..... I had it under control for about 4 months before this happened.... I'll do some asking around elsewhere about the risks and benefits of removing his eye... if he didn't have it in the other eye as well I'd be far more inclined to do this but, honestly, I'm just not prepared to put myself or my little guy through a life of having BOTH eyes taken out with no reasonable promise that he won't develop still other problematic conditions within days...... Bottom line... I won't do to him what I wouldn't do to or for myself..... That said... I always appreciate your suggestions and generally take them...
