Hi Sherri

I am happy to hear of your experience so far, but like you, I held my breath for a very long time with Zander.

Please keep us all updated.

Subject: [Felvtalk] Bogie's First 5 days on Stanozolol

I wanted to update everyone here about how this medication is affecting the health of my FELV positive 1 year old kitten.

Bogie got her diagnosis just under 3 weeks ago. The first vet I saw tried Prednisone and an antibiotic for 2 weeks and it did nothing for here severe anemia. (Her only symptom) I was told at that time that there was nothing that could help her and to just keep her comfortable as she dies.

Changed vets.

New vet...Was prescribed 2mg of Stanozolol once a day along with the Pred once a day. This morning, Bogie got her 5th dose of Stanozolol. She appears to be less anemic. Has more energy, sleeping less and more interested in playing and is eating and drinking well enough on her own. Her gums are slightly more pink as well. There hasn't been any side effects that I have seen with this combination. Except I have to pill her twice a day but she is getting used to that a little bit.

I don't want to speak to soon, but I believe just from how she is acting, that this drug is helping my kitten make some red blood cells. She goes in this week for a blood test so I will know if it is actually doing that . Today is the happiest day we have had in the house in over a month.

I will reply to this thread to keep the group posted.

Wish us luck!

Best.
Sherri
